I added a second Synology, and my Plex Movies library has files from both the old and the new Movies directories. Was it a directory you already had? Did you create a library in Plex and then configure that library to use that directory?Ī library can have more than one directory associated with it. Deze versie was eerder al voor houders van de betaalde PlexPass beschikbaar, maar kan inmiddels. I don't know what you mean by your Multimedia folder. Any files in that directory will populate the library. You have to create a library and point it to a directory. If I copy files from my computer to that directory, Plex sees them and adds them to the library. It's pointed to the Movies directory I just mentioned. Inside Plex I created a new library called Movies. Inside this directory I created a Movies directory and a TV directory. Click on the CIDR Address box, choose a Label name for the Resource, enter the local IP address of Plex (likely.

I gave the Plex user read/write permissions on it. Script to Auto Update Plex Media Server on Synology NAS. Go back to your Remote Network and click on the Add Resource link. I created a shared folder on the Synology labeled Media. I'm aware that I need Plex Pass for that, the main thing is now.

Otherwise even 1080p files won't all playback smoothly according to the info I found. So since I don't have the fastest NAS, I want to make use of that hardware transcoding capability. And that's that for hardware transcoding I can only use the app directly downloaded from the Plex site, is this correct? Apparently the app in the Package Center is only 32 bit? And the app on the website is the only version that is 64 bit. I did check some threads in this sub and I found some info I didn't know yet. But that isn't really convenient, so I want the media server running on my NAS obviously. I'm running the server on my (high end) PC right now and just login when I want a watch something. What is it looking for and what might be preventing it from finding its other component plex.

Recently I wanted to give Plex (yet) another try, because it should be so convenient. Ive installed plex media server, but it keeps asking me to install plex media server on its web interface: Apparently, it doesnt find some other component of itself, because it says 'Looking for servers.' in the top left.

Nowadays I have a few Docker apps running, but I run into problems with a lot of containers getting them to work with my firewall. from Media Server Downloads Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More Intel 32-bit (x10 Series, DS415play, and DS214play). I never used or knew anything about Docker and didn't have a time/energy at the time to dive into it. People advised me to go with Docker and that I shouldn't use Synology apps in general. I have a 418play and ran into some problems in the past with the Plex app from the Package Center.
